Am I able to select my child’s adoptive parents?
You bet! Through virtual communication, you can discuss any questions or concerns you have with your adoption caseworker. He or she will talk with you about your available options, and see if you have any particular requirements for your prospective and desired adoptive family. Then, your caseworker can email you some prospective adoptive parent profile books for you to look through. Remember, there are a wide variety of couples and singles that you can select to adopt your baby. During this time, please feel free to read about each type of couple or single and really think about the characteristics they possess and what type of family best fits your personal needs. If you already know the type of adoptive couple, or single that you want to adopt your baby, you can share this information with us and we can email you specific information for that type of family and begin a virtual meeting process with you.
When you are ready to select an adoptive family for your child, your caseworker can arrange a virtual meeting for you. Be sure to write down any questions you may have before the first meeting. With the world being stuck at home, you have time to seriously think over what the true meaning of adoption is to you and the type of couple or single that you want to adopt your baby. You can also think of questions that you might want to ask us, along with any personal concerns if you are unsure or need some extra information and assistance. If you need help, please do not hesitate to ask us. We are an open book. We will do our best to support you in any way that we can.
