New Year’s Resolutions for Birth Mothers in Kansas

Happy New Year! Welcome to the start of my new year to you from Adoption Choices of Kansas. We are happy to open this new year and help birth mothers that are pregnant and seeking out options regarding their unborn baby. We understand there are limited options pertaining to an unplanned pregnancy. Those are to raise the child as your own even if you are not mentally or financially in the right place. Terminate the pregnancy, which causes you to end the pregnancy and not carry the child to full term. The final option is putting the child up for adoption, which is where we come in!

As a licensed adoption agency, we have helped birth mothers during their pregnancy. Establishing a relationship with the birth mothers during the process of adoption has helped us understand the wants and needs of birth mothers. Being located in Kansas, including Wichita, we have met plenty of local women seeking to put their baby or babies up for adoption. We have built families and are trying to end the stigma surrounding adoption during the process. Such negative outlooks have resisted birth mothers to put their baby up for adoption. Guess what? This is the new year. Here it is time to evaluate yourself and make plans about what you expect and what you want out of the new year with a positive outlook. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and understand the task and changes you would like to take on in the year 2022! As an adoption agency that looks at our mothers like family, we can help and definitely listen.

If you need adoption help now, please call us at 877-903-4488, text us at 316-209-2071, or visit us at Adoption Choices of Kansas.

  1. Finish Out My Senior Year in College: College is a stressful time in life that many students don’t expect before entering. You might want to learn as much as possible but forget you are basically a kid and going through changes physically and mentally. You can’t balance everything, and college is about having as well, which some here forget. We hope you finish your senior year with a high GPA after the birth of your baby. Just think about this your child will be extremely proud of you and look at you as a role model as they should. During your senior year, never forget to have fun. We are saying to go out and become reckless. But, having fun while learning is the best time and will help you frequently learn and still with learned material.
  2. Become Financially Independent:  The cost of living is expensive in Kansas, and we at Adoption Choices of Kansas understand your struggles. After paying for rent, an ample amount of more bills come into consideration: phone, electric, food, and more as you may know that during your process of adoption, we can help you financially in relation to groceries, housing, and more. But, six weeks after your baby is born, the financial assistance will be terminated. However, we can give you more resources to help you in the financial aspect. It is honorable that you decided to take steps to become more financially independent and take more responsibilities. You shouldn’t be hard on yourself because every billionaire in this lifetime started off somewhere. That somewhere was paying less to the point they probably couldn’t afford a slice of pizza. It takes time so just put it in your head that you will make it!
  3. Seek Out Therapy: After your baby is born, we have seen here at Adoption Choices of Kansas many mothers suffer from post-placement depression. It is when a mother is mentally down due to the fact that her baby is no longer in her care. It exists, and that is why we have certain policies in line related to such. At our agency, we provide therapy that is free and can help you. If you choose not to utilize our services, that is completely fine, but know we are always here a day, week, month, or years after your adoption process. Thinking of repairing your mental health in the new year is awesome, and we will be there every step of the way!
  4. Build a Relationship With the Adoptive Parents of My Baby: Depending on the type of adoption you picked, it is important to have a healthy relationship with your baby’s adoptive parents. We can stay there as a third party and help you during times of need as a facilitator. Your counselor will be the facilitator during your pregnancy. It is an amazing time, and having a rebound relationship with them will be amazing in the upcoming new year.
